We have done a lot of fun things this summer. Firstly, we went out and bought a new car. Our faithful '01 Toyota Sienna had gone the way of the dodo. It was getting scary to drive it, and we were afraid we would end up spending a lot of money in the near future on repairs. One of our complaints with the minivan was a lack of storage space. We do a lot of camping, and on our last trip we just couldn't fit everything. Solution: buy a land yacht!


Welcome aboard the USS Queen Corinne! Captain Steve, at your service . . .

Yes, we bought a used 2010 Chevy Suburban. It can comfortably seat 8 (no, Corinne isn't pregnant). We can actually fit all three of the girls in their car seats on one row if we want. It has a massive trunk that easily accomodates all of our stuff. It has 4 wheel drive and a great towing capacity (there may be toys in our future).

Our two cars. My Mazda 3 is dwarfed by the Suburban, which the girls have named Dumbo - due to the fact that it is grey and huge like an elephant.

These two pictures are just to show that Dumbo actually does fit in our garage. I had to remove a row of cabinets at the front of the garage to make it work, but now there's just as much room to get around the back of the car as we had with the minivan when the cabinets were there.

For her maiden voyage we took Dumbo on a family vacation to San Diego!

The dolphins are fun too. They also have a pair of trained pilot whales that are part of this show - the only performing pilot whales in the world.

These guys are part of Cirque de la Mer, an amazing show involving Chinese acrobatics and other big Las Vegas show style acts.

Mary wasn't too impressed with Seaworld, or anywhere else we went - I imagine her train of thought was something like, "well, here I am in the stroller all day again . . ."

During my travels I discovered a den of viscious polar bears and barely escaped with my life.

This walrus and her mate were hilarious. They were the most active animals I've ever seen on display - wrestling each other, blowing against the glass, and staring at the tourists.

This was one of two Beluga Whales they have at Seaworld. They were my favorites - they were like huge white ghosts swimming in and out of view. That, and they have these strange rolls of fat running along their bellies lengthwise that we referred to as their love handles.

The two girls and I look at startfish - you could pick them up and play with them as long as you kept them under water.

Here we are waiting for the Shamu show to start. We were in the splash zone, and Grace really wanted Shamu to splash her. He did splash us, but only Rebecca and I got wet!

Given the choice, I might have chosen this airplane as our new family vehicle . . .

Mary loved the sand so much that she actually ate quite a bit of it!

Fun in the sun! Actually, it was overcast and about 75 degrees, but we still had fun.

We visited the San Diego Temple, all excited to see one of the most beautiful temples of the Church, and it was covered with scaffolding! Even temples need maintenance I guess . . .

Here's Mary in her usual circumstances, but this time we're at the San Diego Zoo! Poor kid - things didn't really change for her much throughout the trip.

The girls liked this lion statue - they really like lions because of Aslan from "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe."

Mary finally got to touch something, and you can see that it made her happy.

Gracie thought the goats were neat too.

Becca and this orangutan made a real connection that afternoon.

So that was our trip. There are more pictures from a previous camping trip, but I have to gather them in from the other families who went with us. We forgot our camera, as usual. But look for future updates. And until then, know that we love you and can't wait to see you again!

You ain't nothing but a HOUND DOG!!!!

The girls had a dance concert. They danced to "Hound Dog" and "Cinderella". It was very cute! It was BB's first dance performance. Now anytime anyone says anything about dancing BB jumps up and starts to sing and dance to "Hound Dog".

After we decided to go to a 50's diner and get burgers and milkshakes!

They had fun showing off to the other customers in there little poodle skirts.

Cute Girls!

This is a blog entry I started a long time ago and something happened and I had to go and I never posted it! Silly me! Oh well! Better late than never!

In March, during spring break, we took a trip to Utah to see our family. We always have so much fun when we go! Here are a few of our favorite pictures and memories from our trip.

Our girls were so excited to wear their new Easter dresses to church in Grandma and Grandpa's ward and this is a picture of them right after church. They are so cute!

Our girls had so much fun getting reacquainted with their cousins. Here is the line up of grand kids! It is practically a miracle that we were able to line them all up and get them to stay still long enough to get the pictures. It always amazes me how quickly families grow!

Since BB turned 4 a couple of days after we got home from Utah, our wonderful family threw BB a birthday party while we were there. This was the first of THREE birthday parties for this lucky girl! She had so much fun! It was good for her. MM kicked her off of her baby throne and she really needed a little extra attention.

After cake and presents, the adults played Beatles Rock Band, while the kids ran amok in Em's basement. They had so much fun and so did we! Hopefully Em lets us come back again! : )

The whole time we were driving to Utah the girls kept saying they were going to build a snowman. At first we were trying to tell them that there wasn't going to be any snow. Then we hit a small blizzard halfway through Utah on the drive up and we started to wonder if they would be able to. By the time we got to Grandma and Grandpa's home the snow was gone. The girls were still undetoured. They really wanted to build a snowman. So one afternoon we drove up to Grandma and Grandpa Mimi's to try and find some snow. What we found was a lot of ice. That didn't matter to the girls they were thrilled to see the white stuff. So Steve did his best and this was the result. We called him "Lumpy." Very pathetic, but the girls were so happy! Then, go figure, we drove home in a snow storm.

While in Utah we went to a really cool park that looked like a castle! The girls were so excited and had a great time pretending to be princesses.

We had a huge bash at Grandma and Grandpa Mimi's clubhouse with all of the cousins and family! It was great to see Mark and Sandy's kids and their children. They are all so sweet and kind. The kids got to go on an Easter egg hunt and color pictures and we all got to eat great food! It was great fun!!

We had so much fun in Utah! On the way home we always pass the Hoover Dam but we have never gotten out to look. We were so sick of riding in the car at that point so we said lets get out and see the Hoover Dam! It is pretty amazing and was totally worth the stop. I keep looking at that bridge they are building and thinking to myself, "It will be faster and more convienent to drive over that bridge once it is done, but I am definately going to have butterflies in my stomach!" Have you seen how big and how high it is!! Scary! (The picture doesn't do it justice!)

And of course the dam itself. We were just a small spec on that walkway at the top!

We had a great spring break! We love you all and can't wait to come again!
