Exciting Changes!

This was just the cutest picture of BB I've taken in a long time - despite the fact that her hair is a mess - Corinne was very concerned about that.

If you look close you will see that GG has lost a tooth - tooth P to be precise. And it just made her that much more cute! She was pretty excited about the whole thing, and actually took the tooth out on her own. She and Corinne had been racing to see whether GG would lose her tooth first or Corinne would have her baby. GG won by a long shot and felt pretty proud about it.

The Tooth Fairy paid GG big for her first tooth!

Sunday Sept 20th - The girls giving Baby M her last good night kiss before she was born.

Corinne showing off her impressive pregnant belly. GG is really awestruck.

This is Corinne in labor sometime after midnight. We had gone into the hospital at 8:00 PM and they started her on some prophylactic antibiotics. Then at around 11:00 PM the doctor broke her water. She started having contractions pretty soon thereafter. They still started her on some Pitocin to progress the labor. She had some trouble with the epidural - her right leg was totally numb, but her left was just tingling a little. So she was still pretty uncomfortable during the contractions. Anyways - long story short - the nurses came to check her for the first time since before breaking her water, and she was already dilated to 10 cm and ready to deliver!

Baby M was born September 21, 2009 at 2:38 AM, weighed 8 lbs, 2.5 oz, and was 21.5 in long, and was crying within about a second of being born.

The proud father.

The worn-out mother.

The baby - still in shock.

She sleeps a lot - thank goodness! Actually for the first two nights Corinne and I were absolutely exhausted. She would sleep, but then wake up every hour or so. We feared the worst, but from the third night on she has slept very well at night - only waking up 1-2 times during our sleeping hours - pretty good for a newborn baby.

GG and BB like their new sister a lot - sometimes too much, and we have to shoo them away without hurting their feelings too badly when they're crowding her or she's upset.

Pretty in pink.

I'm not asleep - I'm just looking at her. This is one of her favorite ways to be held, and it calms her down pretty effectively when she's upset - for a few minutes at least.
Anyways, we're all very excited to have Baby M in the family. It was a real answer to our prayers and many of yours that she was born so healthy and without any of the complications for mother or child that we had been so worried about. Thank you to everyone who prayed for us, put Corinne's and the baby's names into the Temple, and helped with expressions of support, love, and concern. You are the best and we love you.
